One of the most common questions we hear is “how long will my kitchen be out of action?” Here’s a realistic guide to kitchen makeover timelines and how to minimise disruption.
Door and Worktop Replacement: 1-3 Days
If you’re keeping your existing carcasses and just replacing doors, drawer fronts, and worktops, the actual installation is remarkably quick. Our experienced fitters work efficiently to minimise your time without a fully functional kitchen.
What Affects the Timeline?
Kitchen Size
A compact galley kitchen takes less time than a large L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen with an island. More doors and more worktop surface means more installation time.
Worktop Material
Laminate worktops can often be templated, cut, and fitted quickly. Solid materials like granite or quartz require templating first, then fabrication, then installation – adding to the timeline.
Additional Work
Adding or moving electrical sockets, plumbing changes, new lighting, or tiling extends the project. Each trade needs time to complete their work.
